Hope everyone had a great New Year's! Ours was pretty low key! We took Lawson to the McWane Center that morning to run out some energy. Then went to some friends house for dinner and some small fireworks. It was the first year I actually was up to see the ball drop....even though I was at home, in bed, and it was eastern time, it still counts! New Year's Day we went to my mom's house for dinner. Normally we do the whole traditional dinner but decided to change things up a bit this year. We had a traditional taco bar! And I have to say it was delicious!! My in laws joined us so my parents and in laws exchanged Christmas gifts.
Mitch had Monday off from work so we made a trip to Costco to load up on some things we needed and that afternoon I ran to Wal-Mart (by myself!!!) for the fill-ins.
It was a great long weekend with my family! We hated for Mitch to go back to work! It was so nice having him home for extended weekends the past month or so. We are now ready to face 2012!! This past year has been challenging with my father in law's health. He has just finished his 2nd round of chemo and now we are anxiously awaiting to hear what his pet scan will say that he is having on Monday. We are so thankful that besides just being tired and some joint pain he has really handled the chemo well. We are praying that 2012 will bring us some good news and as my in-laws are saying....and to expect a miracle! And that is exactly what we will do. We also will be excited to welcome our 2nd baby in April. So I know that 2012 will be a great year!!!
