My Little Valentine!

So we went today to have Lawson's belated 3 month pictures done. I am kind of glad I waited till 4 months because he did great! He was laughing most the time except by the 3rd outfit he had had enough!
I am so blessed by this little guy! He brings so much joy to our lives! I never in a million years knew I could love something so much! What a great feeling!!
Thank you Lord for giving us this little miracle! He is truly my heart!!

Spring Cleaning in January???

So this weekend...despite both Mitch and I feeling under the weather, we decided to clean out the attic (long overdue). We are fortunate enough to have a rather large attic that had turned into a place that we stuffed EVERYTHING. So after putting it off we finally got it done! We took Lawson to my mom's house so we could just concentrate on the task at hand. After one load of trash to the dump (*side note below) and one load of stuff to good will, our attic is cleaned out!!! What a relief!
We were finally able to put Lawson's newborn and 0-3month clothes upstairs in their bins and also made room for my maternity clothes. Everything has a place up there and hopefully we can keep it that way!
Oh and after one week, 4 support techs from Dell (all from India...really) and a good little penny....we have our computer fixed!! We had to start the computer all over again...losing all of my downloaded music and some other things..but fortunately we were able to put on a disk the most important things...Lawson's pictures!!
Next thing on our list...to clean the house! Guess that will be my chore this week while Mitch is out bringing home the bacon :)

*so thanks to my neighbors kids I saw Wall-E this summer. Not that I am a enviornmentalist or anything but that movie is so true. I went to the dump (or landfill) and how depressing (and stinky). I kept thinking how all that land is just sitting there for our trash! Sad!

Lately....

So we have been computerless the past few days. We had a virus attack our computer and we have been waiting for a CD from Dell to help restore it. Then suddenly the computer starts working like it did before so not quite sure about that. Be careful...because this virus will remove your virus protection and then it starts!

We recently started giving Lawson some rice cereal and adding some fruit baby food to it. So far so good. The doctor told us we could slowly introduce some of the orange/yellow veggies to see how he does with them. So far he likes sweet potatoes and not quite sure about squash. We are going to give those a whirl again tonight. But the boy loves bananas and applesauce. He is so funny when he eats it..because he attacks the spoon and then starts laughing while he eats. He reminds me of Randy off of Christmas story when he is pretending to be a piggie while eating his mashed potatoes. We have captured some really cute moments on my new video camera and when ever I learn how to do upload them I will share.

In my previous post, I wrote how Lawson had reverted back to a not so good sleeper. Lately, he has been great. Sometimes not even waking up in the middle of the night, but maybe only once. So not sure if maybe the cereal/food has helped him or maybe it was a phase...but mommy and daddy are quite happy with our sleeping boy!! (knock on wood)

I have my second cold I have had since having him. Man, it is tough being sick and taking care of him (and the hubs). But yesterday my wonderful mother came and got him for the afternoon and brought me homemade soup! Today, I am feeling better but just wish I could breathe!

On a second note, I have taken up watching the bachelor....why??? I get so embarassed by it and the girls. But I can not NOT watch it!! So now, I am hooked again. Mitch does not partake in this show so I have to record it and watch it later!! I have my front runners but I am afraid that he is going to not pick them. Oh well!!

Lawson's First Trip and his 4 month check-up

Well, we left last Wednesday to head down to Sylvania, GA (outside of Savannah) to visit my family (luckily where we went it was not as cold as it ws here). Lawson was a huge hit and I must admit it was really nice staying with my parents and sister because I probably got the first HOT meal I have had in a long time. My mom and sister pretty much took over the feedings and diaper changes so it was a nice break for good old mom! Thursday we went to visit my great aunt and uncle. She fixed us chili and we stayed and visited them for awhile. Then we went to my other great uncle and aunt's house to eat a low country boil and watch the national championship game. Then on Friday, Mitch and my brother in law went hunting and us girls (and Lawson) went to visit my cousins that came down from VA. We went to my other cousins house that night and had good ol' southern supper-homemade mashed potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, roast with gravy, salad, fruit salad, homemade peanut brittle, chocolate cake and the list goes on and on! It was my cousin Terri's birthday so it was her birthday celebration. On Saturday we lounged around the house we were staying at while the boys hunted and then we went over to my great aunt's house for some more visiting. We then all came back over to the house we were staying at and we ordered pizza and played Catch Phrase! I have never laughed so hard in my life and it was so great to be able to spend that kind of time with them.

Lawson, of course, was a huge hit! They all thought he looked like me (and my dad) but favored Mitch a lot. Lawson was a great traveler and slept better there than he has been here. We hope to make another trip down there soon so we can show off our handsome boy!
I just got back from Lawson's 4 month check up. He is healthy. He is 24.5 inches long (50%) and 13.3 lbs (25%). I swear he weighs more than that but it is probably because I carry him all day. We recently started him on rice cereal and he has done okay. We really don't force it but I started to add a little juice to it this morning and boy did he eat it up. The doctor said we could try and introduce some baby food so maybe we will give that a whirl soon. He got 4 shots and he cried pretty good. He almost knew it was coming. I kept telling myself it is for his own good..plus he will not remember it (hopefully).

Recently his night time sleeping routines have changed. He started out being a great sleeper but now he is waking up every night at least 4-5 times. Half the time he is wet from his diaper (hard to find a diaper his size to wear for overnight) so I have to change him and other times he rolls over and thinks it is time to play. I have done the Babywise way but I have not idea how to get him back to sleeping the way he used to. Any thoughts??

I have posted some pics below of our trip...hope you enjoy!
