Well, we left last Wednesday to head down to Sylvania, GA (outside of Savannah) to visit my family (luckily where we went it was not as cold as it ws here). Lawson was a huge hit and I must admit it was really nice staying with my parents and sister because I probably got the first HOT meal I have had in a long time. My mom and sister pretty much took over the feedings and diaper changes so it was a nice break for good old mom! Thursday we went to visit my great aunt and uncle. She fixed us chili and we stayed and visited them for awhile. Then we went to my other great uncle and aunt's house to eat a low country boil and watch the national championship game. Then on Friday, Mitch and my brother in law went hunting and us girls (and Lawson) went to visit my cousins that came down from VA. We went to my other cousins house that night and had good ol' southern supper-homemade mashed potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, roast with gravy, salad, fruit salad, homemade peanut brittle, chocolate cake and the list goes on and on! It was my cousin Terri's birthday so it was her birthday celebration. On Saturday we lounged around the house we were staying at while the boys hunted and then we went over to my great aunt's house for some more visiting. We then all came back over to the house we were staying at and we ordered pizza and played Catch Phrase! I have never laughed so hard in my life and it was so great to be able to spend that kind of time with them.
Lawson, of course, was a huge hit! They all thought he looked like me (and my dad) but favored Mitch a lot. Lawson was a great traveler and slept better there than he has been here. We hope to make another trip down there soon so we can show off our handsome boy!
I just got back from Lawson's 4 month check up. He is healthy. He is 24.5 inches long (50%) and 13.3 lbs (25%). I swear he weighs more than that but it is probably because I carry him all day. We recently started him on rice cereal and he has done okay. We really don't force it but I started to add a little juice to it this morning and boy did he eat it up. The doctor said we could try and introduce some baby food so maybe we will give that a whirl soon. He got 4 shots and he cried pretty good. He almost knew it was coming. I kept telling myself it is for his own good..plus he will not remember it (hopefully).
Recently his night time sleeping routines have changed. He started out being a great sleeper but now he is waking up every night at least 4-5 times. Half the time he is wet from his diaper (hard to find a diaper his size to wear for overnight) so I have to change him and other times he rolls over and thinks it is time to play. I have done the Babywise way but I have not idea how to get him back to sleeping the way he used to. Any thoughts??
I have posted some pics below of our trip...hope you enjoy!
